Oh and @Andrea, somewhere in your settings there is a toggle to turn off notifications for every new post. That sounds like what tripped you up.
Might be this one, play around and see: User Control panel > Board Preferences > Edit Posting Default > Notify me upon replies by default: No
Or maybe not, I don't get a pop-up like that anyway. Maybe my ad-block catches them?

oh thank you!!! yeah it wasn't a pop up, it like directed me to a the full editor instead of letting me post from quick reply, and then even when i pressed send from the full editor it didn't send and instead told me it wanted me to review my message. it was weird because i never dealt with that in the team challenges where we used tabs and stuff.
