i.e. whoever is doing the relatively easy horizontal, needs to go left to right and right to left.

Best way to call I think, would be like "Beijing - top right corner B to center of grid"

go with letters going horizontally and numbers vertically, it's faster

#2496 I'm actually not sure about dividing them up by direction, actually...I feel like that might not be the most efficient way to do it. It's not how I do word searches. I think it might be better just to yell them as we see them. But if you guys want to do that I'm fine with it.

it's only faster if we don't have to count it out every time, though

#2499 Yeah for the scanning I mean if the four searching each take a direction
1) East-to-West, & West-to-East:
2) North-to-South, & South-to-North:
3) NW to SE, and SE to NW:
4) NE to SW, and SW to NE:

So that way we're covering all the directions from the beggining and not all going the same ways.

I can set up a letter/number grid to drop it onto if you give me a few minutes here. Also don't forget the basics, like how they tend to fill out the gaps between already found words.

Anyone wanna go find an old Stranded Wordsearch so we can get an idea of big he likes to make them?

right, it's just not generally how I do word searches. I'll like look at the words in the word bank and choose a weird letter and then find instances of the letter and spin off in all directions from it...but then again, I'm not great at word searches, so going by what makes me comfortable may not be what's best for the group. If you assign me a direction I'll try to stick to it

#2507 That sounds great. I agree with Andrea that it's not how I typically do word searches but with four people doing it at once it might be more efficient.

Be sure to get every letter in there when making that grid, and then go AA, BB, etc. if it's not enough. I'd say add about ten to each axis on top of whatever Poody's used in the past.

#2508 So like, if there is a word with a double-O in the middle that's easier to find than just looking for the first letter. Or if we have a few words all with ING in them, we can look for multiples all at once?

I am not sure we have a wordbank though, he phrased it very open-endedly. We might have to keep a wiki page in a tab and scan that at the same time.

#2512 Gimmie a few here anyway and I'll make a grid thing to shop it into. You guys are searching, so do it whatever way is most comfortable for you.

#2513 It would be fucking ridiculous without a word bank, but that came to my mind too with the way he was talking. Maybe we should start making our own word bank just in case?

i'm not great at wordsearches so that's good for me icon_laughing
but if i find another word you bet i'll say it

set that grid, yep. i can't go find anything because i don't remember my passwords from old seasons.

one more thing, if we're each taking a direction: don't post for every word. just mark them down and when you finish post all.

#2516 we can do andrea's style and take different starting letters.
vytas A to J, andrea K to P, cass Q to Z for example

that would probably end up disproportionate tho

someone takes first 7 words, someone takes last 7, someone the 6 in the middle. and if there are 8 words starting with A, first one is lucky and works more

#2521 i mean tbh the unscrambling worked fine without us having a plan of who was doing what, we shouted out things as we found them. i think that could work here too. if two people find the same word it's not the end of the world and probably won't slow us down all that much. just refresh a lot to see what's been found and keep going. brenda can keep an updated wordbank for us maybe?

unscrambling also involved some luck. here it's more efficient to search for 7 words instead of 20.
